Well Domstock, or Domstock 2K to give its full name, began life as a seed of an idea back in October 1999, when I discovered my Parents were leaving the island for New Year.
After much discussion with my friends it was decided that a party should be held at my house, a plan which I fully supported, even though I was to discover that my Parents wouldn't!
In the next month ideas, plans, logo, and flyers were discussed and then organised. Disaster, however lay in waiting just one week later. My parents discovered the flyers and said Domstock was not to be.
Distraught we battled to find a solution, alternate venues, snidey parties, and even cancellation were all discussed. In the end however we decided to un-invite people who were not members of 'the Scooby Gang' and use my house as a meeting place (and crash site for the night)
First to arrive was Tom F, or Spacey, he supplied many things, including a TV-Video Combi thing, bottle bungs (Dont ask!), and Idle Hands (A American Film).
He was closely followed by Pepitoe (David Martel), and Tinny (Martin Smith). Tinny provided one of the most comical of our little toys, a CCTV camera. A quick pop down to the shops revealed that there were no Porno mags on sale, so unfortunatley the Camera was not used to its full comic potential!
Tom G was the next person to arrive, swiftly followed by Camp (James Camp). Camp and I proceeded to have a drinking competition. Camp favoured the Slow But Sure© method whereas I was a proponant of the All Down In One Go© Method, Although my beer was finished first, it decided it didnt like the high acidity level of my stomach and proceeded to gush from my mouth at speeds of approximatly the speed of light. Note I did not vomit the beer, as only beer came up!
Then began the drink making, almost no alcohol involved either! The eventual result was christened Rokikettles, which no-one had the stomach to drink!
Over the next hour or two people began arriving, after all people had arrived we decided it was time for the trek into town to meet Ander (Alex Thwaite) and to Partay! (as if!)
On our way however we met some other people on their merry way into town, namely Marcus Ogier, Leon Baker, Renee ...someone tell me her surname!..., and Rob Carre. The joined us in our jolly escapade
In town we had a little trouble finding Ander, he was unusually late. After we had found Ander we made our way into the centre of town and met up, accidently, with Lucy Le Page and Marie Someone.
At some point we lost some people, however at about 1 am 1/1/2000 we decided enough was enough and toddled and wobbled our way home, most of us toddled, Leon wobbled as he was a little!!!!!! unstable on his feet!
We decided a detour on the way home was necessary, Cinebank Time! We got out 2 Videos, the names of which are know hazy in the memory, although one involved School Girls who looked about 40. Yes there were those kind of videos
We arrived home, and so ends this chapter of the story.
Welcome to the final (or is it?!) chapter of the Domstock story.
Once home the videos entered the Fiery jaws of Video Player Mk.1 (one at a time of course... only Leon was that drunk!)
Within about 2 hours the rest of the group had found their way home.
And there the night ended!
Or did it?!?!?
This is were the real fun began. Leon in his delapidated condition, and unknowing of the Rokikettles (a drink mentioned above) was offered a drink, it was Rokikettles, he sipped, and came the closest to blowing chunks he did all night.
Matthew Gale began his drink, sleep cycle, which involved drinking, then going to sleep, the drinking more, sleeping more etc. In one of his little snoozes, I slipped and accidently cut off his right eyebrow with a razor that had just appeared in my hand.
There was too much other stuff happening for me to mention it all, but if you would like to know happened to any of scooby gang, then email me at Beady2k@hotmail.com
